Job well done: Care Manager goes above and beyond!

After completing the COVID-19 Assessments, a Care Manager on Long Island was able to have food arranged for delivery for 6 families she is supporting. Initially she shared resources via text to food pantries in the community with her members/families.
She recognized soon thereafter that due to transportation challenges these families would not be able to go to the pantries to pick up the food needed. Through her research, she discovered that LI Cares provides food delivery . She called and left several messages and sent multiple follow up emails to numerous contacts at LI Cares. Due to her diligent efforts, she was successful with making contact and was able to secure the food. Due to overwhelming needs in the community LI Cares shared that unfortunately, they were unable to deliver.
This dedicated Care Manager took it upon herself to pick up the food and made 6 separate personal deliveries to each of these families. She maintained social distancing guidelines and ensured the families indeed received the delivery. The families expressed such gratitude towards her support. This is yet another example of Care Manager’s going above and beyond to meet the needs of not only our members but their families as well.
