Advance Care Alliance of New York Unveils Restructuring Plan

Strategic initiative aligns with organization’s long-term vision for future growth while ensuring and enhancing care
Advance Care Alliance of New York (ACA/NY), a leading care coordination organization (CCO) designated by the New York State Department of Health and the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, announced today it has embarked on a strategic restructuring of the organization. The care coordination and management that ACA/NY provides to individuals will not be interrupted at any time during the short and essential restructuring period.
To adapt to changing economic conditions, as well as declining state and federal reimbursement realities, ACA/NY’s leadership has embarked on the agency’s first major restructuring. This effort will bring a much-needed revitalization to the agency, executing on its long-term vision for growth. The effort is expected to elevate and expand the reach and services the agency currently provides to individuals and families across New York City, Long Island and the lower Hudson Valley (Orange, Rockland and Westchester counties).
“We are taking these important steps now to reinforce and build upon our organization’s foundation,” said ACA/NY’s Chief Executive Officer Lewis Grossman. “While this is a challenging moment for the organization, we fully expect ACA/NY to emerge a much stronger and more resilient organization over time. Our efforts now will allow us to leverage the potential of ACA/NY and to ensure the delivery of the high-quality care that our members and families have come to expect from us every day.”
The strategic restructuring involves a multi-pronged approach designed to increase operational efficiencies across the enterprise and includes an evaluation and realignment of some managerial and operational staff, which includes a limited reduction in workforce. Services will remain unaffected and case managers who work directly with members and their families will remain in place Employees who are impacted by the reduction in workforce may have an opportunity to transition to new positions created within the organization. Due to financial realities outside ACA/NY’s control, some staff may not transition as part of the restructuring effort.

We expect these efforts to result in creating greater efficiencies and a more streamlined approach to operations,” added Grossman.
