We are the Special Education PTA for the communities of the Sewanhaka middle/high school district and the Elmont, Floral Park-Bellerose, Franklin Square, and New Hyde Park–Garden City Park elementary school districts.
Please join us for ‘Financial Planning for your Child with Special Needs’, with a presentation from a Special Needs family lawyer and financial planner.
What Is SEPTA? SEPTA is a PTA unit focusing on advocating for, and supporting, the needs of families of children who receive special education services with an IEP, a 504 Plan, or related supports. Membership in this SEPTA group is not restricted to those in special ed programs or receiving special services. It is open to any interested parent, student, teacher, or administrator. SEPTA has monthly meetings, with speakers that run lectures or workshops on pressing issues, such as ever-changing federal and state legislation.
Why Join? To have a powerful voice in your child’s education. To connect with, support, and share tips and ideas with others. To learn about topics of interest relevant to educating our children.
