The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) invites you to attend an upcoming webinar to advance learning and recommendations from the June 2021 Supporting Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and Their Aging Caregivers Summit. This free webinar is open to the public and will focus on strategies for state Medicaid agencies and their partner agencies to improve the delivery of supports and services for adults with I/DD and their aging caregivers. Previous participation in the June 2021 summit is not required.
An estimated one million households in the U.S. include an adult with I/DD living with and supported by an aging caregiver, and this number is growing. As adults with I/DD and their caregivers age and face life transitions, they experience new challenges and may need new or additional supports. State Medicaid and partner agencies play critical roles in designing and delivering supports and services that meet the current and future needs of adults with I/DD and their aging parents and caregivers.
During this webinar, participants will:
- Learn about state Medicaid and partner agencies’ promising practices and challenges related to supporting adults with I/DD and their aging caregivers across the lifespan.
- Share and discuss actionable strategies and ideas raised during the summit.
- Learn more about an upcoming learning collaborative and future learning opportunities for state Medicaid agencies and partner agencies regarding supporting adults with I/DD and their aging caregivers.
