Many children with intellectual and developmental disabilities have difficulty during doctor’s appointments which creates anxiety for parents and children. In this upcoming free webinar  brought to you by family connect, we offer families ways to support their child’s social communication skills and sensory needs at the doctor’s office and during medical procedures. Having this valuable knowledge will allow parents and children to get the most out of visits to the child’s doctor.  Spanish and Chinese translation will be available.  A flyer in English, Spanish and Chinese is linked below.

Our speaker will be Dr. Lauren Donnelly, licensed psychologist and faculty member of the Child Study Center at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone and works at the autism spectrum disorder (ASD) service providing evaluations and treatment.

If there is an issue with the link, you can register by emailing  familyconnect@adaptcommunitynetwork.org or calling (718) 436-7979 Ext. 704.

To ensure that families are aware of this opportunity to receive this valuable information, please place the attached parents/caregivers letter and flyer in the children’s backpacks.

Parents’ concerns about their child’s doctor’s visits are common so we want families to be aware that we will be offering helpful information to address this issue.
