This workshop will cover the process for applying to DOE public schools, including tips for researching schools, ways to apply, understanding how school offers are made, and what to do when you get an offer. We’ll also cover how to apply to charter schools, parents’ rights, advocacy tips, and how to get help.

Families of children with disabilities born in 2017 will participate in two processes this year: the Kindergarten Admissions process and the Kindergarten IEP process. Learn more about our two-part Turning 5 workshop series, where we’ll discuss how to get special education services for students with disabilities as they move from preschool to kindergarten, applying to kindergarten, parents’ rights, advocacy tips, and how to get help navigating these two processes.
