The Post-Pandemic Transition: How to Support Teens on the Autism Spectrum Back to School and Life
Over the course of the past 16 months, the Covid-19 pandemic has created a shift in how teens on the autism spectrum accessed secondary school and higher educations, social opportunities, emotional subjects and more, with a heavy focus on utilizing a virtual mode of engagement. As things begin to transition back to in-person accessibility, many considerations need to be taken into accounts, including academic, social and emotional regression, and the transition skills necessary to get on track. This workshop will discuss how parents can support this transition for individuals on the autism spectrum by encouraging executive functioning skills development, goal directed behavior, and a growth mindset.
