Defining Mental Illness and Wellness
WellLife Network is offering a series of FREE Webinars on Mental Health and Wellness topics. Our next webinar is “Defining Mental Illness and Wellness” on Thursday, April 22nd.
Overview:
According to the World Health Organization, mental illness is defined as health conditions involving changes in emotion, thinking, or behavior. Mental illnesses are associated with distress and/or problems functioning in social, work, or family activities. Mental Wellness is defined as “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.”
This webinar will discuss mental illness and wellness and how these definitions have changed over time, and discuss their importance in the context of building a more positive outlook on family and community life.
Thursday, April 22
Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
These webinars are being offered by WellLife Network’s Community Education and Awareness Division and are custom designed for community stakeholders, clinical and non-clinical staff, educators, families, students, and other concerned citizens.
