Independence Never Retires
Stephen is living proof that determination and support can turn goals into reality. Raised in New York City, Stephen has always been a hard worker. Today, he continues to build independence through day habilitation services, Family Care supports, and his passion for knitting, which he uses both for therapy and to earn income.
One of Stephen’s biggest dreams was to return to New York City, reconnect with his cultural roots, and visit places meaningful to him. With careful coordination from his Care Manager, Sabrinna, and support from his Habilitation Specialist, Phil, pictured above, that dream became a reality.
The trip required extensive planning including scheduling, medication considerations, funding access, and logistical coordination, all centered around Stephen’s needs and preferences.
Stephen reminds us that independence doesn’t have an expiration date. He continues to advocate for himself, stay active, and inspire others with his resilience and work ethic.
