DDPC Quick Guides: Tools for Independence
Looking for tools to help you gain independence? If you would like to learn more about self-determination, empowerment, and independence for you or someone you know with an intellectual and/or developmental disability? Please continue reading!
Survey Opportunity
The New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC) has contracted with Welfare Research, Inc. (WRI) to develop, publish, and disseminate informational Quick Guides: Tools for Independence. These Quick Guides will be designed for use by people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The guides will cover topics of independence and self-determination. The results of this survey will help us choose specific topics for the Quick Guides and how best to develop and disseminate them. Also, for those interested, the survey invites participation in upcoming focus groups.
We invite you to complete the following survey so we can create the most engaging and useful guides. This survey has 15 questions and will take 6-10 minutes to complete. Fortunately, the survey is available in both English and Spanish. Please only complete this survey once. If you have received this notice multiple times, disregard this message, and thank you!
Esta encuesta ayudará a WRI a aprender más sobre los intereses y necesidades de las personas en el estado de Nueva York con discapacidades intelectuales y/o del desarrollo. Los resultados de esta encuesta nos permitirá elegir los temas para las Guías Rápidas y la planificación de las capacitaciones que se llevarán a cabo en el futuro para ayudar a las personas a utilizar las Guías rápidas. La encuesta tiene 16 preguntas y tardará entre 7-10 minutos en realizarla.
HOW WILL THIS PROJECT HELP?
Most importantly, with input from individuals, family members, and professionals, the Quick Guides: Tools for Independence series will provide practical information for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities on topics of independence and self-determination. Results of this survey will help us choose specific topics for the Quick Guides.

The DDPC addresses the needs of people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by conducting advocacy, systems change, and capacity building efforts that promote self-determination, integration and inclusion.
