Understanding information is essential to making real, informed choices. Communication access is a right, not a bonus.
Understanding Is Power. You have the right to receive information in a way that makes sense to you.
That might include:
- Plain or simplified language
- Large print
- Visual supports
- Interpreters or translated documents
- Assistive technology or alternative communication styles
It also means having enough time to ask questions and think things through.
