Understanding information is essential to making real, informed choices. Communication access is a right, not a bonus.

Understanding Is Power. You have the right to receive information in a way that makes sense to you.

That might include:

  • Plain or simplified language
  • Large print
  • Visual supports
  • Interpreters or translated documents
  • Assistive technology or alternative communication styles

It also means having enough time to ask questions and think things through.
