Did you know some New Yorkers can use their SNAP benefits to purchase hot meals at participating restaurants?
The Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) allows eligible SNAP recipients to use their EBT card at approved restaurants and food locations across New York State. This program can be especially helpful for people who may not always have access to a kitchen or who may need additional support preparing meals independently.
At Advance Care Alliance of New York (ACANY) and LIFEPlan CCO, we are always looking for resources that help support independence, access, and everyday community living for the people and families we serve.
What Can RMP Be Used For?
Eligible individuals can use SNAP benefits to purchase:
- Hot meals
- Prepared meals
- Ready-to-eat food
This can help make accessing meals easier and more convenient in everyday life.
Who May Qualify?
You may qualify for the Restaurant Meals Program if everyone in your SNAP household is:
- Age 60 or older
- A person with a disability
- Experiencing homelessness
If eligible, there is no separate application for RMP. Participation is connected directly to your SNAP benefits.
